The BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul lost 1.55 percent of its value in the first half of the day, falling to 9,206.01 points.
BIST 100 index, which moved in a downward trend in the first half of the day, fell to 9,206.01 points as of 13.00, a decrease of 145.21 points compared to the previous closing. The total transaction volume was 34 billion lira.
The banking index lost 3.57 percent and the holding index lost 2.06 percent.
Among the sector indices, the only gainer was sports with 0.57 percent, and the biggest decliner was banks.
While global markets are following a mixed course due to the escalating tension in the Middle East, the ADP private sector employment data to be announced in the USA today has become the focus of investors.
Question marks regarding the status of the conflicts in the Middle East and whether the fight against inflation around the world will result in a recession continue to dampen the risk appetite.
Analysts stated that foreign exchange assets and liabilities of companies outside the financial sector in the country and ADP Private Sector Employment data in the USA will be followed today, and noted that 9,200 and 9,100 points in the BIST 100 index are in a support position, and 9,400 and 9,500 levels are in a resistance position.
