Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır made a statement on his social media account regarding the HIT-30 High Technology Investment Program, which was introduced with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Kacır said, “With the HIT-30 High Technology Investment Program, we aim to produce 65 nanometer and below chips in our country. With a resource of 5 billion dollars, including capital contribution and grant support, we will ensure that the chips we need in areas such as automotive, white goods, electronics, defense and aviation are produced in Turkey. The global chip market exceeded 600 billion dollars last year. With the development of artificial intelligence, we will meet our own needs and develop export capabilities in this rapidly growing field as Turkey.”

Kacır, who also noted that the HİT-30 program has many components, said, “Our goal is to establish 80 gigawatt-hour battery production capacity in Turkey with support of up to 4.5 billion dollars. We will provide incentives, including grant support of up to 6 thousand dollars per megawatt-hour until 2030, for the development and production of batteries, which are critical needs in the electric vehicle and energy storage sectors, in Turkey. Turkey will be a high-tech production base.”
