Minister of Labor and Social Security Işıkhan evaluated the workforce statistics for September on his social media account.
Minister Işıkhan noted the following in his post:
The positive outlook in employment continues in line with the Medium Term Program. Our employment number increased by 95 thousand people in September compared to the previous month, reaching 32 million 823 thousand people, and the employment rate increased by 0.1 point to 49.7 percent. The unemployment rate remained unchanged in the same period, at 8.6 percent, and has maintained its tendency to remain in single digits for the last 17 months.
We see the increase in the workforce as hopeful for achieving our goals in the coming period. We will continue to implement our policies to increase employment.
