BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul increased by 0.88 percent in the first half of the day and reached 9,265.62 points.
BIST 100 index, which moved in an upward trend in the first half of the day, rose to 9,265.62 points, an increase of 80.8 points compared to the previous close, as of 13:00. The total transaction volume was 44.6 billion lira.
The banking index gained 2 percent and the holding index gained 1.06 percent.
Among the sector indices, the one that gained the most was electricity with 2.77 percent, and the one that decreased the most was sports with 1.37 percent.
Global markets started the week on a positive note, where the intense macroeconomic data agenda will be followed, especially inflation in the USA and the speech of US Federal Reserve (Fed) Chairman Jerome Powell.
Analysts stated that the data calendar was calm at home and abroad for the rest of the day, and noted that technically, 9,350 and 9,450 points in the BIST 100 index were resistance, and 9,100 and 8,900 levels were support.
