In the statement made by SpaceX, it was stated that the facility to be established is aimed to support thousands of launches per year and significantly increase space flights.

It was stated in the statement that the company is expected to create 3 thousand new direct jobs in the next 10 years, and over 8 thousand indirect jobs are envisaged.

In the statement, it was emphasized that the facility, which will be established with an investment of 100 billion dollars, will be the company’s fourth and largest launch facility and will play an important role in increasing Starship missions.

It was stated in the statement that when the facility is completed, it is expected to include five launch complexes, each with two launch pads and a fuel facility, and that the project will also include a fuel production facility, energy production facility, vehicle processing facility and residences for employees and their families.

In the statement, it was stated that construction is aimed to start in 2027 and the first launch is aimed to be carried out as early as 2029.

Elon Musk, Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SpaceX, said in his assessment of the issue: “We are preparing to build a space base that has only existed in science fiction so far.” he said.

Underlining that the company was founded to create a future where people are outside to explore the stars, Musk stated that this will only be possible when going to space becomes as routine as traveling by plane.

Musk emphasized that the base called “Starbase, Louisiana” to be established in Louisiana will pave the way for the future.
