Things may change for players who have gotten used to PlayStation exclusive games such as God of War, Spider-Man and The Last of Us coming to PC in recent years. According to new allegations, Sony is planning to no longer transfer its story-oriented, big-budget games to the PC platform.

According to information shared by Bloomberg’s senior game writer Jason Schreier, PlayStation Studio Business Group CEO Hermen Hulst officially announced this strategy change at a well-attended meeting held within the company on Monday. This move is considered a turning point that will completely change the balance in the console market and the expectations of computer players.

According to the details provided by Schreier, Sony’s big-budget and narrative-oriented single-player games will now remain completely exclusive to PlayStation consoles. Thus, the company has finalized the strategy change that it has been signaling since last March. This situation shows that the new projects that attracted attention after the past productions adapted to the computer, such as Ghost of Tsushima and Marvel’s Spider-Man, will not meet with computer gamers.

In line with the announced new policy, huge productions such as the eagerly awaited Ghost of Yōtei, Saros, which is planned to be released in 2026, and Marvel’s Wolverine are not expected to switch to the computer platform. The only option for gamers who want to experience these games will be to purchase the PlayStation 5 console, which is on the shelves with its current pricing. With this move, Sony aims to maximize hardware sales and loyalty to its ecosystem.
