German automotive manufacturer Volkswagen has decided to recall more than 208 thousand vehicles in the USA due to the risk of malfunction in the steering system.
In the statement made by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), it was stated that the recall covers some 2018-2021 model vehicles.
It was reported that the recall decision covered 208 thousand 724 vehicles.
In the statement, it was warned that vehicles may lose control due to an error in the steering box bolt and this may increase the risk of accidents.
It was stated that certain vehicles in the 2018 model Tiguan, 2018-2019 model Atlas and 2019-2021 model Audi Q3 series will be affected by the recall.
Volkswagen will replace the steering box mounting bolt on the right side of all affected vehicles free of charge through authorized dealers.
