US President Trump is upset about the negotiations with Tehran. Now the US military is reportedly attacking targets in southern Iran again.

Despite the ceasefire and ongoing negotiations to end the war, the US has again attacked targets in Iran, according to consistent media reports. The strikes targeted a facility that posed a threat to U.S. military forces and commercial shipping, CNN and CBS News reported, citing an official.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Iran initially fired four drones at American and civilian ships. The report cited statements from two US officials. According to one of the officials, US fighter jets shot down the drones before an F/A-18 fighter jet attacked the position. The drones were fired from near the city of Bandar Abbas.

Bandar Abbas is an important military center

According to CBS News, a US official said the ceasefire in the Iran war, which has been in place since early April, remains in effect. But just a few days ago there had already been mutual attacks between the warring parties in the area of the Strait of Hormuz.

Shortly before the US media reports, explosions had already been reported in the south of Iran. Three explosions were heard east of the city of Bandar Abbas on the Strait of Hormuz, the Iranian Fars news agency reported on the Telegram platform overnight. The air defense was activated.

Bandar Abbas is the capital of Hormuzgan Province and is considered one of Iran’s most important military centers in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
