Trump: Vandalism at the Reflecting Pool
US President Donald Trump has blamed vandals for peeling paint and algae at the recently renovated Reflecting Pool. “We have had some serious issues with vandalism at the beautiful Reflecting Pool which occurred between the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. Just three days ago the grass around the pool was damaged. “In addition, the perpetrators made every effort to destroy the interior coating that had only recently been installed,” Trump wrote on his network Truth Social.
Trump inaugurates new presidential plane from Qatar
Despite allegations of corruption, US President Donald Trump has presented a jumbo jet donated by the Gulf Emirate of Qatar as a future government aircraft. “The other plane was about 35 years old, and it was about time,” said the visibly enthusiastic Trump at a podium in front of the Boeing 747 aircraft.
The new aircraft is “practically twice as big” as the previous model and appears “even larger” on the runway. Trump continued to rave about “the largest Air Force One ever built”: “It flies further and faster than any other Air Force One.”
In May 2025, despite sharp criticism, Trump accepted the valuable aircraft as a gift from the Gulf Emirate of Qatar – and for doing so drew accusations of bribery.
