Javier Milei initially takes a hard line against international politics. When it comes to one topic, however, Argentina’s president takes a completely different tone.

In his speech at the UN General Assembly, Argentina’s President Javier Milei Harsh words were found for the international community of states. He described it, among other things, as a “useless organization” that serves to “feed a caste of fatally arrogant parasites masquerading as well-meaning bureaucrats.”

Specifically, he threw the U.N. suggests allowing “chaos, violence and international terrorism” and only pretending to defend human rights. Instead, regimes “that stone women on the street” would be protected. He also criticized the institution for interfering too much in the politics of sovereign states.

The tone changes on this topic

After his sharp attacks, Javier Milei suddenly became almost exuberant when it came to the topic of artificial intelligence. He sees technology as a great opportunity to increase productivity. In contrast to many critical voices, he explicitly does not want strict regulation AI in his country.

He would much rather provide incentives for companies through taxes and limited liability. In doing so, he follows the stance of the US President, who spoke of “superintelligence” in his speech.
