According to the statement made by Uludağ Exporters’ Association, new business connections were established at the fair held on 10-14 September, which was organized by OIB under the coordination of the Ministry of Trade and attended by 339 Turkish companies operating in the automotive supply industry sector.

OIB Board Chairman Baran Çelik, whose views were included in the statement, emphasized that Germany is a very important market for Turkey’s exports.

Çelik, who stated that the growth they will achieve in their current markets will enable them to earn billions of dollars in additions since they export high amounts of value to these regions, said, “When we look at Germany’s automotive product imports, we see that it is approximately 158 billion dollars. The leading countries in the country’s automotive imports are Czechia, Spain, Poland, Italy, the USA, France and Slovakia. Turkey is in 15th place with approximately 5 billion dollars. Our primary goal is to be among the top 10.”

Çelik gave the information that automotive supply industry products ranked first in exports to Germany on the basis of product groups.

Çelik stated that in the main industry, passenger cars, tractors, buses, minibuses, midibuses, and motor vehicles for carrying goods are the product groups they export the most, and noted the following:

“Germany’s share of our automotive exports is an average of 15 percent, while its share of our supply industry exports is approximately 25 percent. Our exports to Germany, which is considered the automotive center of Europe, have been in the range of 4-5 billion dollars for 5 years. We can easily say that the importance of this large market for our automotive exporters will continue for many years. Therefore, we aim to steadily increase our automotive exports to Germany by exceeding 5 billion dollars as soon as possible.”
