BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul gained 0.07 percent in the first half of the day, reaching 9,731.51 points.

BIST 100 index, which moved in an upward trend in the first half of the day, rose to 9,731.51 points as of 13:00, with an increase of 7.01 points and 0.07 percent compared to the previous closing. The total transaction volume was 31 billion lira.

The banking index gained 0.42 percent and the holding index gained 0.05 percent.

Among the sector indices, the one that gained the most was stone soil with 2.31 percent, and the one that decreased the most was sports with 1.89 percent.

While the search for direction before the Christmas holiday comes to the fore in global markets, it is predicted that the markets will remain shallow throughout the week due to the holiday. Domestically, all eyes are on the interest rate decision of the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) this week.

Economists participating in AA Finance’s expectations survey expect the CBRT to reduce the policy rate by 150 basis points to 48.50 percent in December.

The average of economists’ end-2025 policy rate expectations was 29.50 percent.

Analysts stated that the domestic data agenda will be calm in the afternoon, while the New York Fed consumer confidence index data in the USA will be followed abroad, and stated that technically, 9,900 and 10,000 points in the BIST 100 index are resistance, and 9,700 and 9,600 levels are support.
