The total number of paid employees in the industry, construction and trade-service sectors increased by 0.5 percent in May compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 15 million 970 thousand 105.
Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) published paid employee statistics for May.
Accordingly, the total number of paid employees in the industry, construction and trade-service sectors, which was 15 million 892 thousand 187 people in May 2025, increased by 0.5 percent to 15 million 970 thousand 105 people this May.
In the month in question, the number of paid employees decreased by 3.2 percent on an annual basis in the industrial sector, increased by 1.2 percent in the construction sector and 2.3 percent in the trade-service sector.
MONTHLY CHANGE
The total number of paid employees in the industry, construction and trade-service sectors decreased by 0.1 percent in May compared to April.
During this period, the number of paid employees decreased by 0.1 percent in the industrial sector and 1.2 percent in the construction sector, while it remained the same in the trade-service sector.
