The last ring of Türkiye’s longest metro ring has been completed

Minister Uraloğlu made a statement about the Halkalı-Arnavutköy line, which is the last link of the Halkalı-Istanbul Airport-Gayrettepe metro project. “The last ring of Türkiye’s longest metro ring will be put into service on June 19,” said Uraloğlu, adding that they planned the Halkalı-Istanbul Airport-Gayrettepe metro project in two parts: Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport metro line and Istanbul Airport-Halkalı metro line. Minister Uraloğlu said, “We opened the Kağıthane-İstanbul Airport section of the Gayrettepe-İstanbul Airport line on January 22, 2023, and the Kağıthane-Gayrettepe section on January 29, 2024. The 14-kilometer Cargo Terminal-Arnavutköy Hospital section of the Istanbul Airport-Halkalı line (including warehouse connection lines) was put into service on March 19, 2024. “We took it,” he said.

Work has been completed on the 21.75 kilometer Halkalı-Arnavutköy line

Stating that they have completed the work on the 21.75 kilometer Halkalı-Arnavutköy section, Minister Uraloğlu made the following statements in his statement:
“By completing our work in this section, we have completed the 69-kilometer ring line, which is the longest and fastest in Türkiye and one of the longest in the world, under the name of the Halkalı-Istanbul Airport-Gayrettepe metro project, which is completely underground. In this context, we will put Ibn Haldun University, Kayaşehir, Olympiad, Halkalı Stadium and Halkalı stations between Halkalı-Arnavutköy into service.”

Halkalı-Gayrettepe distance will be reduced to 57 minutes

With the commissioning of the entire line, Uraloğlu will operate the Vezneciler-Sultangazi-Fenertepe metro and İbn Haldun University Station, Bakırköy-Kirazlı-Başakşehir-Kayaşehir metro and Kayaşehir Station, Ataköy-İkitelli-Olimpiyat metro and Olympiaköy Station, Kabataş-Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey-Bahçeşehir-Esenyurt metro. He said that integration will be achieved at Halkalı Stadium Station. Stating that the line will be integrated with Marmaray at Halkalı Station, Minister Uraloğlu said, “Thanks to these integrations, the travel time between Halkalı-Istanbul Airport will be reduced to 30 minutes, between Halkalı-Göktürk will be 43 minutes, between Halkalı-Kağıthane will be 54 minutes, between Halkalı-Gayrettepe will be 57 minutes, and between Küçükçekmece-Kemerburgaz will be 50 minutes, and Başakşehir will be reduced to 50 minutes.” “The distance between (Metrokent) and Kağıthane will be reduced to 48 minutes,” he said.

Halkalı-Arnavutköy metro line will be put into service by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on June 19.
