Exchange-Protected Turkish lira Deposits and Participation Accounts (KKM) decreased by 15 billion 160 million liras last week, falling to 1 trillion 169 billion 517 million liras.
According to the weekly bulletin of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK), the total credit volume of the banking sector increased by 149 billion 39 million liras in the week of December 13, from 115 trillion 491 billion 156 million liras to 15 trillion 640 billion 195 million liras.
Total deposits in the banking sector, including interbanks, increased by 571 billion 768 million liras last week, reaching 18 trillion 551 billion 277 million liras.
THE AMOUNT OF CONSUMER LOANS WAS 1 TRILLION 979 BILLION LIRA
The amount of consumer loans increased by 27 billion 826 million liras as of December 13, reaching 1 trillion 978 billion 748 million liras. Of the amount in question, 503 billion 923 million lira consisted of housing loans, 75 billion 460 million lira from vehicle loans and 1 trillion 399 billion 366 million lira from consumer loans.
During this period, the amount of installment commercial loans increased by 44 billion 432 million liras and reached 2 trillion 125 billion 844 million liras.
Banks’ individual credit card receivables increased by 0.3 percent, reaching 1 trillion 762 billion 315 million lira. Of the individual credit card receivables, 605 billion 446 million liras were installment debts and 1 trillion 156 billion 869 million liras were non-installment debts.
LEGAL EQUITY INCREASED
As of December 13, non-performing receivables in the banking sector increased by 3 billion 585 million liras compared to the previous week, reaching 286 billion 777 million liras. Special provisions were allocated for 213 billion 675 million liras of non-performing receivables.
In the same period, the legal equity capital of the banking system increased by 13 billion 551 million liras and reached 3 trillion 321 billion 954 million liras.
KKM balance decreased by 1.3 percent and 15 billion 160 million lira last week, falling to 1 trillion 169 billion 517 million lira.
Thus, the size of KKM became 6.30 percent of the total deposits.
