Despite the ongoing difficulties in the global economy, Turkish products are in demand from all over the world.
Turkey continues to move forward in exports to its largest market, Europe, with the United Kingdom topping the list in export growth last month.
According to the Turkish Exporters Assembly data, the country to which Turkey increased its exports the most in terms of value last month was the United Kingdom.
Turkey’s exports to this country increased by $348.3 million in July compared to the same period last year.
In terms of export growth, the United Kingdom was followed by the United Arab Emirates with $275.6 million, the United States with $255.2 million, Egypt with $148.5 million and Iraq with $144.8 million.
Last month, exports to the United Arab Emirates were $705.9 million, to the United States $1.2 billion, to Egypt $327.8 million, and to Iraq $858.4 million.
During the period in question, the countries to which Turkey made the most exports were Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Italy and Iraq.
In July, exports to Germany amounted to $1.6 billion, to the United Kingdom $1.3 billion, to Italy $967.2 million, and to Iraq $858.4 million.
The automotive sector was the sector that exported the most to the UK in July, with $458.1 million.
The electrical and electronics sector sold $155.9 million worth of products to this country, ready-made clothing and apparel sold $136 million, chemicals and products sold $87 million, and the steel sector sold $49.8 million.
HIGHEST EXPORT FROM ISTANBUL
In July, Istanbul companies made the most exports to the UK with $477.4 million.
Istanbul was followed by Kocaeli with $238.9 million, Sakarya with $95.3 million, Bursa with $91.5 million and Izmir with $72.7 million.
