Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır stated that they will quickly complete the development of the air defense system Steel Dome and said, “We will take our long-range missile development capabilities to further levels. Kacır made a presentation about the 2025 budgets of his Ministry and its affiliated organizations at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Planning and Budget Commission.

Stating that the international economy is under the influence of regional conflicts and protectionist measures in global trade, Kacır stated that Turkey has continued to grow for 16 quarters despite cyclical difficulties.

Kacır pointed out that while the industrial production index was 10.3 percent lower in Germany, 6.1 percent in Italy, 3 percent in France and 1.4 percent in Spain compared to the pre-pandemic period, it increased by 19.7 percent in Turkey. pulled.

Emphasizing that exports increased by 17.8 percent in the defense and aerospace industry, 8.8 percent in steel, 6.4 percent in automotive and 2.5 percent in chemical products, Kacır stated that this success is the result of the gains they have achieved in the last 22 years.

Kacır pointed out that in this period, the number of employees in the industry increased from 3 million 900 thousand to 6 million 700 thousand and industrial production increased to 3.2 times.

HIGH TECHNOLOGY EXPORTS WILL INCREASE

Stating that their share in the world in the added value of the manufacturing industry reached 1.33 percent from 0.70 percent, Kacır said, “We increased our annual exports from 36 billion dollars to 262 billion dollars. The share of our exports in the world increased from 0.55 to 1.07 percent. Medium “We increased the export of high and high-tech products from 10 billion dollars to 97 billion dollars. Today, Turkey is the country that can competitively export the most products to the most countries in the belt extending from China to Central Europe.” he said.

Kacır emphasized that innovative ideas turned into value-added products in technoparks, the number of which increased from 2 to 104, and said that the number of projects carried out in technoparks, where 11 thousand 86 enterprises continued innovation, exceeded 78 thousand.

“In line with our 12th Development Plan, we will increase the exports of high and medium-high technology products from 97 billion dollars to 176 billion dollars by 2028,” said Kacır, adding that they will become a high-tech production base.

Kacır stated that they announced the HIT-30 High Technology Investment Program for this purpose and underlined that they will pave the way for more than 30 billion dollars of investment in high technology fields by 2030.

630 APPLICATIONS TO THE CALL FOR RISING INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES

“We are successfully continuing the ‘Technology-Focused Industrial Move Program’, which provides end-to-end support for high technology investments, from R&D to investment. When the projects we have supported so far are completed, we will contribute 7.2 billion dollars annually to closing the current account deficit. Underlining that they are determined to reduce the carbon footprint, increase energy efficiency and use renewable energy in the industry, Kacır shared the following information:

“With the support of TUBITAK, we are implementing 74 R&D projects with a budget of 600 million lira for the development of green technologies in Turkey. We aim to turn the EU Border Carbon Regulation into an opportunity for our sectors. We have started working with our international stakeholders for the establishment of the Turkish Industry Decarbonization Investment Platform, which will provide advantageous financing in green transformation. This We aim to provide 3 billion euros of resources to our industry with the program. Within the scope of the project we continue with the World Bank, we will support green infrastructure investments of 6 billion 300 million lira in our OIZs in 10 months of this year. “We have encouraged 1865 investments worth 165 billion liras in environmental investments.”

Stating that they are accelerating their work on clean energy sources, Kacır announced that they will start an R&D program for nuclear energy technologies.

Kacır noted that they supported 30 projects with a budget of 96 million lira for the development of artificial intelligence solutions needed by companies and public institutions in Turkey with artificial intelligence calls and that they developed the first basic artificial intelligence big language model enriched with Turkish data at TÜBİTAK.

We have paved the way for 156 billion lira of fixed investment. 172 billion 300 million lira for 67 R&D and Design Centers, where 19 thousand employees are employed. In our technoparks, our 291 companies continue to develop technology with 5 thousand 850 researchers. We provided 38 billion 300 million lira support to 1493 defense industry projects and 2 thousand 233 scientists and young people for our strategic institutions.
