The regulation on the subject was published in the Official Gazette on July 3 with the “Presidential Decree on Amendments to Certain Presidential Decrees”. The decree stated that the services provided by the provincial organization of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance would be provided by the treasury offices established under the Revenue Administration (GİB).

With the entry into force of the said decree on September 1, the provincial organization revenue offices of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance and the provincial organization tax office directorates of the Revenue Administration were brought together under a “single roof”.

REVENUE OFFICES WERE ESTABLISHED IN 52 PROVINCES

With this practice, the services provided by the provincial organization of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance began to be provided by the revenue offices established under the Revenue Administration. While the tax office directorates in 29 provinces were transformed into revenue offices, they took the names of the provinces in which they were located.

Tax office heads were given the title of treasury director. Treasury directorates were established in 52 provinces where there were no tax office directorates. Thus, the Revenue Administration gained a uniform organizational structure throughout the country.

In addition, the duties of the Accounting and Proceedings units in the provincial organization of the Ministry were preserved and they were made to work directly under the treasury department under the Revenue Administration.
