BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul started the day with an increase of 0.22 percent at 14,382.06 points.
BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul, which followed a buying-oriented trend yesterday, closed the day at 14,350.60 points, gaining 1.62 percent in value.
The index rose to 14,382.06 points at the opening today, with an increase of 31.46 points and 0.22 percent compared to the previous closing. The banking index gained 0.27 percent and the holding index gained 0.17 percent.
Among the sector indices, the highest gainer was forest paper printing with 0.79 percent, and the biggest decrease was securities investment trust with 0.19 percent.
A negative trend stands out in global markets due to the sharp declines in the shares of technology and artificial intelligence companies. Sharp declines in technology stocks stand out due to concerns that the effects of increasing chip costs may be reflected in the industry in general.
Concerns about whether the positive effects of technology companies’ artificial intelligence expenditures will be seen in the near term have again caused the risk appetite in global markets to decrease.
On the other hand, all eyes are on the non-agricultural employment data to be announced in the USA today.
Non-farm employment data is expected to provide clear information about the course of the US economy. Analysts state that the healthy course of employment will indicate the strength of economic activity in the USA, and that this situation may lead to volatility in interest rate expectations for the US Federal Reserve (Fed).
Analysts stated that weekly money and bank statistics will be followed domestically today, and that an intensive data agenda will be followed abroad, especially non-agricultural employment data in the USA.
Analysts noted that technically, 14,500 and 14,600 points in the BIST 100 index are resistance, while 14,200 and 14,100 points are support.
