BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul gained 0.58 percent in the first half of the day, reaching 10,006.74 points.
BIST 100 index, which moved in an upward trend in the first half of the day, rose to 10,006.74 points as of 13:00, an increase of 57.73 points and 0.58 percent compared to the previous closing. The total transaction volume was 34.1 billion lira.
The banking index gained 0.42 percent and the holding index gained 0.08 percent.
Among the sector indices, sports was the biggest gainer with 5.73 percent, and the only loser was securities investment trusts with 0.32 percent.
While transaction volumes after the Christmas holiday continue to remain low in global markets, a mixed course is observed with uncertainties regarding the steps the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will take in the easing cycle next year.
Analysts stated that the data agenda in the country was calm in the afternoon, while wholesale stocks in the USA would be followed abroad, and that from a technical perspective, 10,100 and 10,200 points in the BIST 100 index were in a resistance position, and 9,900 and 9,700 levels were in a support position.
