Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced that seasonally adjusted special comprehensive Consumer Price Index (CPI) indicators will be published for the first time on October 4.
In the announcement made by TURKSTAT on the subject, it was stated that, as a result of the consultation group meetings held between the Institution and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), the final stage has been reached regarding the production of seasonally adjusted CPI and special comprehensive CPI indicators.
In the announcement, “In this context, the relevant indicators will be published on the TURKSTAT website at 16.00 one business day after the publication of the CPI news bulletin every month. Data on seasonally adjusted special comprehensive CPI indicators will be published for the first time in the statistical tables in the Consumer Price Index Newsletter.” “In addition, as with other seasonally adjusted indicators, the methodological document for special comprehensive CPI indicators will be available to users simultaneously with the publication.” statements were included.
A NEW TABLE INCLUDING MONTHLY AND ANNUAL CHANGE RATES FOR BASIC TITLES WILL BE PUBLISHED
In addition to the new CPI indicators, it was also decided to publish a new table containing the monthly and annual change rates for all basic headings at the 5-level Classification of Individual Consumption by Purpose (COICOP) for the current month, taking into account user demands, and continued as follows:
“Thanks to this table, these tables have been removed from publication as there is no need for a limited number of selected basic headlines showing the highest increase, the highest decrease or the least increase on a monthly basis, and the two existing tables regarding the change rates. The new table containing all the basic headings at the COICOP 5-level “It allows much more detailed data in this field to be shared with the public.”
