Reports of dozens dead in attack in Jabaliya

According to Palestinian reports, dozens of people were killed in an Israeli attack in the northern Gaza Strip. The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported 36 deaths in the refugee district of Jabaliya, including 15 minors. Fighter jets shot at a residential building there.

When asked, the Israeli army said that “a site with terrorist infrastructure” from which terrorists had operated had been attacked in Jabaliya. These threatened troops in the area. The details of the incident were being investigated. Before the attack, steps were taken to reduce the risk to civilians.

The Hamas-controlled health authority said more than 43,600 people have been killed and nearly 103,000 others injured in the Gaza Strip since the war began more than 13 months ago. The information does not distinguish between civilians and combatants.
