The Unifil soldiers in the Nakura area in southern Lebanon have been instructed to go to safe places, it said in a statement. Then they opened fire. Fighters from the radical Islamic Hezbollah militia operated from within and near civilian areas in southern Lebanon, it said. This included the areas around Unifil bases. Unifil said there were three incidents and two peacekeepers were injured.
