Supernova remnant found in the constellation Cassiopeia showed the effects of a past star explosion. The powerful X-rays and ultraviolet light emitted during the explosion heated the gas and dust clouds in space, causing them to glow. NASA’s Webb Telescope examined this light echo in detail, revealing previously unknown nodes, layers and cloud structures.
Dr. from the research team. Jacob Jencson said that they did not expect detailed images and said, “The resulting layers are just like the rings of an onion.”
One of the scientists participating in the research, Dr. Armin Rest said, “This study will help us understand the structures in space in three dimensions, just like a medical tomography scan.”
Scientists think that the data obtained will provide new information about interstellar magnetic fields and dust dynamics in galaxies.
