According to the notifications in the Official Gazette; The final review investigation for “hot rolled flat steel” originating from China, India, Japan and Russia has been completed.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that product imports were dumped and caused damage to domestic production.

ANTI-DUMPING MEASURES

For this reason, it was decided to take strict measures against dumping in the import of the product at rates between 6.1 percent and 43.31 percent of the CIF value.

Anti-dumping measures were taken for the products of 7 companies originating from China, with a CIF value between 15.42 and 36.37 as a percentage.

Again, 43.31 percent anti-dumping protection will be applied to the products of companies other than the 7 companies considered to be of Chinese origin.

For imports from India, an anti-dumping measure of 6.1 percent of the CIF value for Tata Steel and 9 percent for others came into force.

For Japan, 9 percent measures will be taken for all companies.

In Russia, anti-dumping protection will be 6.1 percent for Magnitogorsk and Novolipetsk, and 9 percent for the others.

WHAT IS DAMPING IN IMPORTS?

Exporting a good at a price lower than its normal value (domestic market sales price in the exporter or country of origin) is called dumping. The domestic production branch that claims to have been harmed by dumped imports may submit a duly prepared application to the General Directorate of Imports in order to take precautions against the import in question. Upon application, an investigation can be initiated if the necessary conditions are met within the framework of the relevant legislation, and measures can be taken if dumping, damage and causal connection are detected as a result of the investigation.
