The American National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is once again going through mass layoffs. NASA, which recently laid off many employees, decided to reduce the workforce at the famous Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) unit in California.
JPL announced that it will part ways with 325 employees. JPL laid off 530 employees in February due to budget cuts.
“I was hoping I wouldn’t have to write this message,” JPL Director Laurie Leshin said in a memo to employees. “However, based on decreasing budgets and future workload forecasts, we have had to impose austerity in all areas and you will see the effects of this in layoffs.”
