He actually didn’t want to support any candidate: But now Elon Musk has apparently donated to Donald Trump.
Elon Musk has apparently donated a large sum to Donald Trump’s election campaign. He transferred a “substantial” sum to the group “America PAC,” Bloomberg reports, citing an insider. The exact amount is not yet known. Neither side has yet commented on the report.
Back in March, Musk wrote on his social network X: “To be clear, I will not be donating to either candidate.” However, Musk had repeatedly criticized Joe Biden for his immigration policy and met with Trump shortly before his X post.
The Wall Street Journal recently reported that Trump was even considering an advisory role for Musk should he win the presidential election in November. Musk later denied this, however.
Political Action Committees (PACs) are organizations that collect donations. They are tax-exempt under US law, but are not under the direct control of the candidates. According to Bloomberg, the America PAC must disclose its donor list on July 15.
