The Iranian armed forces are attacking the Jewish state with cluster munitions in revenge for the killing of top official Larijani. The Gulf states are also coming under fire again.

Two people have been killed in Israel in a powerful Iranian missile attack in revenge for the death of a top Islamic Republic official. According to media reports, the Iranian armed forces used warheads containing cluster munitions in the attack. A man and a woman between the ages of 70 and 80 were killed at the impact site in the city of Ramat Gan near Tel Aviv, said the Magen David Adom rescue service.

The attack was in retaliation for the killing of the Secretary General of the National Security Council in Iran, Ali Larijani, reported the Tasnim news agency, which is close to the Revolutionary Guards. According to Magen David Adom, 14 people have been killed in rocket attacks in Israel since the start of the Iran war, and there are thousands of deaths and injuries in Iran since the war began almost three weeks ago.

At the scene of the fatal impact in Ramat Gan, rescue workers were faced with a scene of destruction. “When we arrived, we saw thick smoke and destruction in a residential building. There were broken glass and scattered objects everywhere. When we searched the apartment, two injured people were found who were unconscious, had no pulse and were no longer breathing,” the rescue service quoted a paramedic as saying. Given their serious injuries, they could no longer be saved.

In Bnei Brak, east of Tel Aviv, a man was taken to hospital with minor splinter injuries to his hand, according to emergency services. Damage due to the rocket attack was also reported at Savidor train station in Tel Aviv. Train services at the station were temporarily suspended. According to media reports, the fire department had to respond to several fires in central Israel after rockets hit there. According to military information, the air defense was able to intercept most of the projectiles.

Meanwhile, Iranian forces continued their attacks on the Gulf states, which they identified as complicit in the Israeli-American war of aggression. A rocket landed near the Minhad air base in the United Arab Emirates. The airfield southeast of Dubai is used by the Australian Air Force, among others.

No Australian soldiers were injured in the attack, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese told reporters. A fire caused by the rocket caused only minor damage to accommodation and a medical facility on the base.
