According to the information obtained from the Ministry, the Tax Inspection Board continues its inspections of large taxpayers without interruption.

The Board has started intensive tax inspections with the “yield analysis” method to determine the real production amount of businesses. In this method, the materials used in manufacturing and other production inputs in businesses and the products and outputs that need to be produced are analyzed. Important results are also obtained with this new inspection method.

Accordingly, a yield analysis and recorded inventory study was conducted for a company engaged in the production of tobacco products. While the calculations were made by taking into account the capacity and working hours of cigarette production lines, the company’s natural gas, tobacco and cigarette filter consumption data were also used.

As a result of the efficiency and recorded inventory study, it was determined that the company had unregistered revenue. In the examination, it was seen that some documents in the business were not included in the legal book records and declarations. It was also determined that special consumption and value added taxes were not reflected in the declarations even though invoices were issued for cigarettes.

As a result of the investigation, the company was fined approximately 6 billion lira in taxes. This figure is expected to increase with the delay interest. In the investigation, it was understood that corporate, special consumption, value added taxes and provisional tax were also underpaid.

“WE WILL DIRECT THE IMPROVEMENT IN TAX REVENUES TO THE WELFARE OF THE CITIZENS”

Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek also stated that they attach importance to the recorded and actual inventory and efficiency analysis studies with the new audit work.

Şimşek, who stated that tax inspectors started simultaneous inspections of 707 jewelers in 9 metropolitan cities and conducted actual inventory studies, said, “We will continue to implement such inspection methods in the upcoming period. New sectors and companies that will undergo actual and recorded inventory studies and efficiency analysis are next in line. We will continue our work in this direction.”

Recalling the message of “we will collect more taxes from those who earn more”, Şimşek noted the following:

“In this context, we are also closely monitoring our large taxpayers. Our audits will continue to increase, covering all sectors. We are determined to prevent informality and increase tax justice. We will direct the improvement in tax revenues to productive areas for the welfare of our citizens and the stability of our country. We will continue to follow up on those who make unfair profits and create unfair competition by causing tax loss and evasion.”

STATEMENT FROM MINISTER ŞİMŞEK

We are controlling the process from raw material to final product with intensive efficiency examinations to determine the real production of large enterprises. We are always on the side of our honest taxpayers, we will continue to fight against informality intensively with our risk analyses.”
