Minister Yumaklı: 3.6 million tons of olives are expected this year

Minister Yumaklı visited Kilis Governorship and AK Party Provincial Headquarters in the city where he came for a series of visits.

Minister Yumaklı, who later participated in the cortege march of the Kilis Olive Festival, visited the stands set up in the city center.

In his speech here, Minister Yumaklı said that olive production requires significant effort.

Stating that Turkey has an important place in olive production worldwide, Yumaklı said:

“There is intense labor at every stage of olive production. This part of the work is generally ignored in our country, which has a very rich culture and experience in this regard. However, we hope that we will crown the product of this intense labor, effort and patience with very good brands entering the world market. World “We have 14 percent of olive production, and we are 5th in olive oil production. All our efforts are to rise to the top and even reach the top in this regard. Therefore, we are making intense efforts and efforts with both our Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Commerce on this issue.”

OLIVE OIL HARVEST 475 THOUSAND

Stating that they will carry out various studies with producers on this issue, Yumaklı said, “We are the 4th in olive oil exports and we want to move this to the top again. There is a year of growth in Turkey in 2024 and we expect an increase of 137 percent. 3.6 million tons of olives “Hopefully, we will have achieved its production. Approximately 750 thousand tons will be produced for table use. Dear brothers, we assume that our olive oil production will increase by 157 percent to approximately 475 thousand tons this year.” he said.
