Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat said, “94 percent of our exports, which have increased 7.1 times in 21 years from 36 billion dollars to 261.5 billion dollars today, come from industry.”
Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Chairman of the Board of Nuriş Oğuzhan Turan, Governor of Ankara Vasip Şahin, Mayor of Sincan Murat Ercan, Chairman of AFAD Okay Memiş, businessmen and invitees attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Capital Organized Industrial Zone (OSB) in Ankara.
“94 PERCENT OF OUR EXPORTS COMES FROM INDUSTRY”
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Minister Bolat said that the factory will be built on an area of 22 thousand square meters and 1.5. He gave information that the economic size increased from 230 billion dollars of national income to 1 trillion 158 billion dollars in 21 years. Minister Bolat noted that Turkey is among the fastest growing countries in the world with an average annual growth of 5.4 percent and said, “Our country grew by 5.7 percent in the first quarter of this year. And industry is at the forefront of the sectors that serve as the locomotive in this growth. Industry and manufacturing industry have a very important place in both our production and exports. 94 percent of our exports, which broke records and increased by 7.1 times in 21 years from 36 billion dollars to 261.5 billion dollars today, come from industry. Our exports and goods exports grew by 3.4 percent in the first seven months. Similarly, our service exports are also aiming for a 10 percent growth this year and are running towards the target of 110 billion dollars of service exports. “Geopolitical tensions, wars in our region and around us, economic stagnation in the Western world, especially in Europe, and stagnation in world trade show that we are not in an easy process. However, despite the troubles and fire around us, Turkey continues on its path with a resilient leadership and stable political management, successful balancing policies in the economy and development reforms,” he said.
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, who stated that the decline in imports simultaneously with growth on the export side strengthened the significant improvement in the foreign trade balance, said that concrete progress was also made in permanently reducing inflation, which is among the priority targets of the economic program. Emphasizing that they will resolutely continue the policies that increase the durability of the economy, Kacır underlined that they will continue to create a strong investment climate by rapidly implementing the structural reforms needed by the sector with investor-friendly policies.
“OUR STRONG PRODUCTION INFRASTRUCTURE, WHICH WE HAVE ESTABLISHED IN 22 YEARS, IS RESULTING IN EVERY FIELD”
Kacır, who reminded that President Erdoğan shared the details of the HIT-30 High Technology Investment Program, the largest-scale incentive program in Turkish history, with the public last month, said, “The interest shown by local and foreign investors in the program so far proves that our country, which is a safe haven for investors, will continue to be the focus of global high-tech investments in the coming period. Our strong production infrastructure, which we have established in a short period of time in terms of state history, 22 years, with our value-added production, innovation, digitalization and incentive and support programs, is bearing fruit in every field. It strengthens us in our country’s growth and development journey. We observed the importance of the prefabricated construction industry, which plays a leading role in meeting the need for cost-effective, sustainable and flexible housing, once again with the earthquake disaster we experienced last year. Thank God, we quickly provided our citizens with reliable housing areas with the support of our sector.”
