Announcing the foreign trade figures for September, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat announced that the foreign trade deficit in September was 5.12 billion dollars. Minister Bolat stated that the foreign trade deficit decreased by 31.5 percent in the January-September period.
According to the figures announced by Minister Bolat, exports were 22.7 billion dollars in September. Imports amounted to 27.1 billion dollars.
Minister Bolat’s statement is as follows;
“We see that the balancing in our foreign trade continues in September. Exports reached 22.7 billion dollars in September. The downward trend in imports continued in September, we imported 27.1 billion dollars.
Foreign trade deficit was 5.12 billion dollars in September. The ratio of imports to exports increased to 79.2 percent in September. In the January-September period, our foreign trade deficit decreased by 31.5 percent. The ratio of imports to exports was 76.3 percent in the January-September period.
The country where exports decreased the most was Israel. We are working together with the Treasury and our Central Bank on supporting exports. “We will inform you about the developments regarding rediscount loans in a few days.”
