KKM fell below 2 billion TL

Exchange-Protected Turkish lira Deposits and Participation Accounts (KKM) decreased by 86 million liras to 1 billion 994 million liras last week.

According to the weekly bulletin published by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA), the total credit volume of the banking sector increased by approximately 34 billion 651 million liras in the week of March 6, from 24 trillion 167 billion 209 million liras to 24 trillion 201 billion 860 million liras.

Total deposits in the banking sector, including interbanks, decreased by 437 billion 403 million liras last week, falling to 27 trillion 849 billion 145 million liras.

CONSUMER CREDITS INCREASED TO 3 TRILLION 47 BILLION LIRA

The amount of consumer loans increased by 13 billion 916 million liras in this period, reaching 3 trillion 46 billion 645 million liras.

Of the amount in question, 723 billion 546 million lira consisted of housing loans, 46 billion 651 million lira from vehicle loans and 2 trillion 276 billion 449 million lira from consumer loans.

During this period, the amount of installment commercial loans increased by 34 billion 212 million liras and reached 3 trillion 711 billion 810 million liras.

Banks’ individual credit card receivables decreased by 0.3 percent and reached 2 trillion 900 billion 693 million liras.

Of the individual credit card receivables, 1 trillion 94 billion 379 million liras were installment debts and 1 trillion 806 billion 314 million liras were non-installment debts.

LEGAL EQUITY INCREASED

As of March 6, non-performing receivables in the banking sector increased by 4 billion 713 million liras compared to the previous week, reaching 657 billion 249 million liras.

Special provisions were allocated for 491 billion 538 million liras of non-performing receivables.

In the same period, the legal equity capital of the banking system increased by 8 billion 915 million liras and reached 5 trillion 449 billion 587 million liras.

KKM balance decreased by 86 million lira last week to 1 billion 994 million lira. Thus, the size of KKM constituted 0.01 percent of the total deposits.
