It has been suggested that the European Union Travel and Authorization System ETIAS will be implemented in the first half of 2025. It was claimed that with this application, citizens with Green Passport or Gray Passport who do not require an EU visa to travel to EU member countries, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway and Lichtenstein will register in the ETIAS system and pay a fee of 7 euros. It was claimed that those who received a rejection response in this system would not be able to enter the EU.
So, has there been an official statement regarding this application, which is called ‘pre-visa’? According to the news of Türkiye newspaper, the information that there will be a “pre-visa requirement for Green Passport holders from the EU” does not directly reflect the truth.
The stated ETIAS system will not affect citizens of third-party countries who need a visa to travel to the Schengen area.
According to the same news, although a direct statement has not yet been made for the passport, Türkiye is not among the countries that need to receive pre-approval through the ETIAS system.
