US Vice President Kamala Harris appeared in public after her defeat in the US election. She has already spoken to Donald Trump on the phone.

Democratic candidate and US Vice President Kamala Harris has publicly admitted her defeat in the US presidential election. “We have to accept the result of this election,” said the 60-year-old during an appearance in front of supporters in the capital Washington.

Harris went on to say that while she understands the emotions of her supporters, the country needs to accept the election results. “I know people are feeling and going through a range of emotions right now. I understand that,” Harris said with a laugh. She spoke on the phone with election winner Donald Trump and spoke out in favor of a peaceful handover of government affairs.

The election loser thanked her family as well as President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden in her speech at Howard University in Washington DC: “To my beloved Doug and our family: I love you so much. To President Joe Biden and his wife Jill: Thank you for your trust and support. To Governor Walz and the Walz family: I know your service to our nation will continue,” she said. “I am proud of the race we ran in the 107 days of campaigning,” she said, thanking her supporters.

Harris urged the audience at Howard University to fill the sky with stars. “I know that many people feel that we are heading into a dark time. But for the sake of all of us, I hope that is not the case. But if it is so, America, let us have heaven with us “The light of a bright, shining billion of stars of optimism, of faith, of truth and of service to the nation,” Harris added.
