In the statement made by VK, one of Russia’s most popular social media platforms, it was stated that the applications are no longer available on Google Play.
In the statement, it was stated that the currently installed services continue to work without any restrictions, and it was stated that VK and MAX applications can be downloaded from RuStore, Huawei AppGallery, Samsung Galaxy Store, Xiaomi GetApps and other Android application stores.
Apple had previously removed VK and some of the company’s applications from the App Store, while Russia had imposed various restrictions on access to platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and X in the country.
While WhatsApp and Telegram were completely blocked in Russia for security and anti-fraud purposes, the local MAX application, which was launched last year with the support of VK, spread rapidly, especially in public institutions.
