Total deposits of the banking sector increased by 563.5 billion liras in the week ending December 13 compared to the previous week, reaching 18 trillion 997 billion 643 million 634 thousand liras.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) announced weekly money and bank statistics.
Accordingly, the total deposits of the banking sector (including interbank) increased by 563 billion 490 million 957 thousand liras in the week ending December 13, reaching 18 trillion 997 billion 643 million 634 thousand liras.
In the same period, TL deposits in banks increased by 4.12 percent to 11 trillion 749 billion 121 million 866 thousand liras, and foreign currency (FX) deposits increased by 1.19 percent to 6 trillion 420 billion 305 million 505 thousand liras.
While total FX deposits in banks amounted to 192 billion 878 million dollars last week, 164 billion 159 million dollars of this amount was collected in the accounts of domestic residents.
Considering the data adjusted for parity effect, there was an increase of 1 billion 374 million dollars in the total FX deposits of domestic residents as of December 13.
INSTALLMENT COMMERCIAL LOAN AMOUNT INCREASED
Consumer loans in deposit banks increased by 1.47 percent last week and reached 1 trillion 886 billion 303 million 247 thousand liras.
In the same period, commercial installment loans increased by 2.23 percent to 1 trillion 960 billion 153 million 870 thousand liras, and credit card balances increased by 1.17 percent to 2 trillion 264 billion 774 million 330 thousand liras.
Of the consumer loans in deposit banks, 455 billion 30 million 454 thousand lira consisted of housing, 58 billion 828 million 837 thousand lira from vehicle loans and 1 trillion 372 billion 443 million 956 thousand lira from other loans.
The total credit volume of the banking sector, including the CBRT, increased by 155 billion 195 million 738 thousand liras in the week ending December 13, reaching 15 trillion 184 billion 522 million 492 thousand liras.
Total loan volume increased by 38.74 percent compared to the same period last year.
