2.45 a.m.: In the contested swing states, Donald Trump’s campaign workers are apparently being looked after by a support organization that is largely financed by Tesla boss Elon Musk. According to a report in the Guardian, the Trump campaign management is said to have outsourced the local work to the America Pac.

This should hire campaign workers to go door to door and advertise for Trump. A total of up to 400 helpers are said to be employed in seven countries. In July, Elon Musk announced that he would donate $45 million to the “America Pac”. Doorstep visits have so far been a strength of the Democrats in campaigns, but now the Trump campaign also wants to try to convince voters who are still undecided, especially in rural areas. The support committee is also supported by the Winklevoss brothers and former US Ambassador to the United Nations Kelly Craft.

1:10 a.m.: A major shareholder in Trump Media and former contestant on “The Apprentice” has sold almost all of his stake in former President Donald Trump’s social media company. According to current prices on Thursday, the share package is worth around $100 million.

United Atlantic Ventures, which is led by Trump Media & Technology Group co-founder Andy Litinsky, now owns just 100 shares of the company, according to filings released Thursday, according to CNN. That’s down from just over 7.5 million shares the company owned at the end of March. An attorney for United Atlantic Ventures did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Litinsky was a contestant on Trump’s NBC show “The Apprentice,” which helped boost Trump’s profile in the United States.

3 a.m.: The US parliament has passed a short-term interim budget law, thereby averting an impending standstill in government business. Without an agreement, employees in parts of the public administration would no longer have been paid from next Tuesday. US President Joe Biden still has to sign the law.
