Accordingly, due to the decline in the manufacturing sector, the economy shrunk by 0.1 percent on a monthly basis in January. The British economy had grown by 0.4 percent in December 2024.
While the service sector in the UK grew by 0.4 percent on a monthly basis on January, the manufacturing sector contracted by 0.9 percent and the construction sector shrinked by 0.2 percent. The manufacturing sector grew by 0.5 percent in December 2024 and the construction sector shrunk by 0.2 percent.
On the other hand, the British economy grew by 0.2 percent compared to the previous three-month period, which covers the months of November 2024-January 2025. In this growth, the mobility in the service sector was effective.
