The Trump administration has apparently disregarded the decision of a federal judge. It’s about controversial deportations.

The Trump government is said to have bypassed a federal judicial order with calculation. This is reported by anonymous sources from the ABC News. It was about the deportation of hundreds of alleged Venezuelan antitrust members. A federal judge in the capital Washington ordered a preliminary stop for the procedure on Saturday. However, the White House announced that around 300 Venezuelans had been deported to El Salvador.

US President Donald Trump had previously activated the “Alien Enemies Act” from 1798 to show the Venezuelan nationals. At the weekend he ordered the deportation from the alleged members of the Venezuelan criminal cartel tren de Aragua. The President argued that Tren de Aragua exercised “enemy actions” and “irregular warfare” against the US territory-and accused that she also follows instructions from the government of Venezuela’s authoritarian President Nicolás Maduro. The “Alien Enemies Act” allows the president to deport foreigners without regular legal proceedings during war times or in enemy actions. Read more here.

The White House then announced on Sunday that at the president’s instruction, almost 300 “terrorists” of the gang of Tren de Aragua had been deported. Thanks to the great work of the Foreign Ministry, these “hideous monsters” were brought to El Salvador, where they could no longer be a danger to the American people. Foreign Minister Marco Rubio had previously shared a video on platform X that El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele had posted and is supposed to show the arrival of 238 members of Tren de Aragua in the country. They were removed under massive safety precautions. Trump later posted the video on his Truth social platform and wrote: “These are the monsters”, which was let into the country by his predecessor Joe Biden. He thanked El Salvador and President Bukele.

The federal judge James E. Boasberg had suspended the deportation of the Venezuelans under the “Alien Enemies Act” for 14 days before Trump’s announcement. The critics argued that the activation of the “Alien Enemies Act” was illegal because the United States is not in the state of war with Venezuela.

Judge Boasberg demanded the return of aircraft that were already on the way to Central America. “You should inform your clients immediately: Every plane with these people who wants to take off or is already in the air must be brought back to the USA,” said Boasberg during the hearing on Saturday. Those affected should initially remain in custody of the US immigration and customs authority. A court date for further clarification was scheduled.

High -ranking lawyers and officials from the government, according to the reports, decided that Boasberg’s order was not applies because the flights were already over international waters. The government justified the need to land in Venezuela with “national security reasons”, ABC News reported.

The two planes are still withdrawn during the court hearing. This was a calculated measure. Sources claimed to ABC News that the government wanted to ensure that these aircraft came before a judicial decision about international waters.

The “New York Times” reported that the planes may have been in El Salvador when the federal judge intervened. The newspaper referred to a social media post by the Salvadorian President, in which he shared an article about the judge decision and wrote: “Oops … too late”.

On Sunday evening, Trump’s press spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt announced: “The administration has not disregarded any court order.” Leavitt said that the judge’s decision was only taken after the alleged gang members “had already been removed from the US territory”, and argued: “The written decision does not contradict the actions of the administration.”
