Donald Trump and Elon Musk caused turbulence in parliament with their intervention and stopped a budget solution. Only shortly before an impending shutdown of the US government was averted.

US President Joe Biden has signed an interim budget into law, thereby averting an impending standstill in government business. The signing was considered a formality after Congress passed the law in a night session (local time) literally at the last minute.

President-elect Donald Trump and his close confidant, tech billionaire Elon Musk, had previously torpedoed an agreement that had already been negotiated between party leaders in Congress. This required another round of negotiations before the law could finally be passed.
