Swiss airline suspends Zurich-Tel Aviv flights
Swiss International Air Lines (Swiss) has suspended flights between Zurich and Tel Aviv due to recent developments in the Middle East.
Flights between Zurich and Tel Aviv were suspended until August 8 for “crew and passenger safety” reasons, while on July 29 the suspension of flights between Zurich and Beirut was also extended until August 12.
Lufthansa suspends flights to Beirut and Tel Aviv
German airline Lufthansa has suspended flights to Beirut and Tel Aviv due to security reasons.
In a statement made by the airline, it was stated that there will be no flights to Tel Aviv until August 8 and the scope of the previously taken decision not to fly to Beirut has been extended until August 12.
The decision was based on the deteriorating security situation in the region, and it was noted that “the situation on the ground will be monitored” regarding the resumption of flights.
Air India suspends flights to Tel Aviv
Indian airline Air India has decided to suspend its flights to and from Tel Aviv due to developments in the Middle East.
“Given the ongoing situation in some parts of the Middle East, we have suspended our flights to Tel Aviv until August 8,” the airline said in a statement.
ITA suspends flights to Tel Aviv until August 6
In a statement made by Italy’s flag carrier airline ITA’s X account, it was stated that flights planned to and from Tel Aviv were suspended until August 6.
The statement cited “developments in the Middle East and the safety of passengers and crew” as the reason for the decision.
LOT suspends flights to Lebanon and Israel for 2 days
Poland’s national airline LOT has cancelled eight flights to Lebanon and Israel scheduled for August 3-4 due to security reasons, Polish news agency PAP reported.
Royal Dutch airline KLM also announced that it has cancelled flights to Israel until October 26.
Air France also suspended flights to Beirut for 2 days
Greece’s Aegean Airlines and Germany’s Condor Airlines were among the airlines that suspended flights to the Lebanese capital Beirut.
Aegean and Condor Airlines announced that they would suspend flights from Athens to Beirut until August 1 due to rising tensions in the Middle East.
Air France also announced that it would suspend flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Beirut airports for two days.
Singapore Airlines will not use Iranian airspace for its flights
Singapore Airlines (SIA) said in a statement that due to rising tensions in the Middle East, Iranian airspace will not be used for flights and alternative routes will be used.
The statement, which stated that flights to “Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Istanbul, London, New York, Manchester, Milan, Munich, Paris, Rome and Zurich” would be affected by this situation, said, “We will continue to closely monitor the situation in the Middle East and adjust our flight routes as necessary.”
Ben Gurion Airport operates as usual
While the official website of Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv crashed due to a temporary glitch, the airport continues to operate normally, according to Israeli media.
In a statement made by the airport management, it was stated that the malfunction was due to the density of entries to the site and that efforts were being made to fix the problem.
“The airport is operating as usual,” the statement said, and it was recommended to follow the official announcements of the airport administration.
