The Deno team is joining Cloudflare to radically simplify hosting Workers and Durable Objects on their servers and enable developers to use the same core components in more places.
Cloudflare announced the acquisition of Deno, an open source JavaScript and TypeScript runtime environment. With this acquisition, the company aims to develop the Workers platform, which allows developers to develop and run applications on the Cloudflare network. However, financial details of the purchase agreement were not shared.
Deno was created by Node.js creator Ryan Dahl and Bert Belder. Founded in 2018, the company recently launched celld, an open-source implementation of Cloudflare Workers.
