Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek said that exporters maintained their position despite the uncertainties in global trade and this supported the external balance.
Minister Şimşek said, “The resilient course of service exports also supports our external balance.” he said.
Minister Şimşek’s evaluation is as follows;
“The current account deficit reached 40.7 billion dollars annually in July. In this period of increasing uncertainties and cost pressures in global trade, our exporters maintain their position in global markets with their product and market diversity, strong production infrastructure and ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions. The resilient course of service exports also supports our external balance.
In the coming period, we will continue to take steps to increase the competitiveness of our exporters and continue our structural transformation policies that will strengthen high-tech and value-added production.
In this way, we will further strengthen our competitiveness and supply security against the transformation in global trade and geopolitical developments.”
