With the decision of the President published in the Official Gazette, it was decided that a maximum of 1 million patients receiving smoking cessation treatment, regardless of whether they have social security, can benefit from some drugs provided by the Ministry of Health through tobacco addiction treatment and training units.
The President’s decision regarding drug support for patients receiving smoking cessation treatment was published in the Official Gazette.
According to the decision; Patients receiving smoking cessation treatment, provided that their number does not exceed 1 million and regardless of whether they have any social security, will be able to benefit from nicotine replacement preparations and drugs containing Bupropion HCI, Varenicline and Cytizine, which will be provided by the Ministry of Health and distributed to primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare institutions and organizations.
Patients will benefit from these drugs through tobacco addiction treatment and education units.
The Minister of Health will enforce the provisions of the decision.
