According to the “E-Commerce Outlook Report 2025”, which includes the developments in the field of e-commerce by the Ministry of Commerce, the developments in the e-commerce ecosystem are increasing consumers’ expectations for speed, accessibility, flexibility and product diversity day by day.
In this context, fast commerce, where delivery is generally carried out by motor couriers, stands out as one of the frequently preferred e-commerce models, as the ordered products are delivered to the consumer in a very short time. The field in question is showing strong growth, especially in the food, supermarket and catering sectors, with dark stores (small warehouse-like centers where only online orders are prepared and distributed), local collaborations and advanced logistics infrastructure.
In this direction, as of 2025, the express trade volume, which includes instant and appointment deliveries, reached 388.7 billion lira, an increase of 55.6 percent compared to the previous year. The compound annual growth rate of the volume in 2019-2025 was 138.7 percent. The share of this trade in e-commerce volume was 1.6 percent in 2019, and increased to 8.5 percent last year.
The majority of the trade volume in question was made up of the catering industry and the food and supermarket sectors. Accordingly, while the catering sector stood out in fast trade with a share of 69.5 percent last year, the volume of food and supermarkets was at 30.5 percent.
