Russia attacks the west of Ukraine massively, two people die. Poland is alerted – and reacts promptly.
Russia attacked Ukraine again at night and caused damage, especially in the west of the country. In the West Ukrainian region of Tscherniwzi (Czernowitz), two people were killed and four were seriously injured by an impact, said military governor Ruslan Saparanjuk near Telegram. Ten other people had suffered minor injuries. According to Saparanjuks, Tscherniwzi was attacked with drones and rockets.
The mayor of the West Ukrainian city of Lwiw, Andrij Sadowyj, said that in addition to houses, a kindergarten had also been damaged. There was a big fire in the Bahnhofsviertel, but as far as there is no injuries, he wrote on Telegram. The Ukrainian Air Force had previously warned of ballistic rockets and drones from Russia that aimed west.
The Polish government immediately reacted to the new wave of attack and rose NATO fight jets. The Polish military said that “all available forces and resources” were activated to monitor airspace. Several fighter jets are on duty. “The measures taken aim to ensure security in the areas adjacent to the endangered areas.”
The military remains willing for an “immediate reaction”. Other allies were also involved in the campaign. The military did not provide any further information.
