Şanlıurfa Commodity Exchange Assembly President İsa Kızıldemir stated that peanuts are an important agricultural product called “green gold” for the Southeast farmers, especially Şanlıurfa and Gaziantep.
Stating that peanuts grown in the Southeast are in great demand both in the domestic market and abroad, Kızıldemir said:
“We know how important a product peanuts are for the region and the Turkish economy. The fact that the export figures in 2024 exceed the figures of 2023 is an indication of this. The high export figures are very important for the development of our country’s economy and the increase in trade volume. Thanks to the increasing export figures, “Both farmers, industrialists and exporters won. We expect the peanut yield to increase in the coming periods with the increasing number of trees in our region and this will increase export figures to more serious levels.”
