Economists participating in AA Finans’ expectation survey expect the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) to keep the policy rate constant at 37 percent in April.
The expectation survey organized by AA Finance for the CBRT’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting to be held on Wednesday, April 22 resulted in the participation of 37 economists.
While 22 of the economists participating in the expectations survey predicted that the policy rate would be kept constant, 1 predicted that it would be increased by 100 basis points and 14 predicted that it would be increased by 300 basis points.
The median of economists’ expectations for the April MPC decision was that the policy rate would be left constant at 37 percent.
The median year-end policy rate expectations of the economists participating in the survey was calculated as 33 percent.
At the MPC meeting held in March, the policy rate was not changed and was kept constant at 37 percent.
