US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that his country has “sufficient resources” to finance attacks on Iran, but they requested additional budget from Congress to strongly support the army in the future.
Speaking on NBC News’ “Meet the Press” program, Bessent stated that the additional budget is aimed at strengthening future military capacity rather than covering current expenses.

Bessent stated that, thanks to the easing of sanctions against Iranian and Russian oil, countries such as Japan and South Korea other than China will be able to purchase oil, and that this could prevent oil prices from rising to 150 dollars per barrel and limit the total revenues of Iran and Russia.
